Latest MySpace blog entries:   new band!   new old track on facebook

In other news:

30.9.09 dawgs, this site is dead. long live the myspace and facebook sites for updates and stuff.

17.3.09 yo dawgs. the box set has now been updated with some covers and stuff. Our label guy, Jesper, has been so kind as to "tag it for iTunes" - whatever that means... I think it's something along the lines of it being optimized for mac users... I don't know. Jesper has also made a neat pdf out of the letter we included. It looks really pro now, so if you are bored or haven't checked it out yet, this is right up your bum. In other news, Jeppe's band wedoband is playing @ rust in cph on friday, so put on your best dress and shake your blues away to the catchy pop songs the little "guy" writes. Furthermore, the headquarters has completed a new song called Spasm. It's fucking awesome spastic destruct-o-funk with a mean , mean edge. We'll play it at our next show, for shaw. until further ado, god bless you all. the weather is beautiful today so go bask in the sun.

4.3.09 DUDE. And DUDETTES! Have we got a present for you! Here is a rather extensive compilation of old stuff! The zip-file literally contains two full albums worth of material: The 2004 EP If You Really Love Me Send Me More Medical Supplies and the complete demos for our last album along with some outtakes and oddities. Well, there's a letter contained in the zip-file that explains everything, really. GO NUTS! And remember the show may 2nd in Copenhagen. That is imperative. A third band called Majorian has been added to the bill and the headquarters highly recommends their song No Need To Pace. Alright. that's it. Hope you have fun diving into our archives :)

24.2.09 on this the first of hopefully many spring days to come we are happy to add a new show to the calendar. it's at vega in copenhagen in may alongside the river phoenix and gustav voss. our wonderful booking agency 3rd tsunami has curated the evening. we'll be playing a bunch of new and newer songs, trying them out, seeing how they work. more info as the date approaches. bye now!

9.1.09 ... yes, that's how we write the dates as of today. changes. in the air. ah. are you ready for some thrilling news? aight. available, for your listening pleasure via myspace is - wait for it, wait for it - a brand new track tentatively entitled Oh, The Irony. It's just a demo, so pardon the hushed vocals. One has to live in an apartment complex, you know. One cannot scream one's lungs out. One has to face people on the stairs occassionally. unfortunately. anywhoo. hope you like it. I'm still writing. let this little sneak preview be a belated christmas critter for y'all. oh, and I think filip is working on a facebook thing for us. look out for that.

11/12/08 ... *update* I forgot to mention that filip is doing a poetry reading in copenhagen this saturday. it's at underwood ink, ryesgade 30a! his stuff is hilarious sometimes, and beautiful at other times. check it out here! *end update* oh my word, it's been a while, hasn't it? well, sorry. srsly. But I'll have to keep it short as I am in a hurry.. We really enjoyed playing the shows in november, possibly the last shows for half a year. So thanks for coming out! Back to the lab again, workin on new stuff. And gig I wrote about below this log-entry went surprisingly well, also, by the way. Morten is some dude, i'll tell you that much. Now for the most potent bit of news from our little camp: Jeppe has secretly been writing songs on his own for the last couple of years, and now he is no longer ashamed of them! his band WEDOBAND is playing their debut show this saturday at pakhuset in aarhus. And rest assured, we'll be there, first row, hecklin' and spittin' and doing our best to make him lose his concentration. Their music is slightly gay (in both senses of the word) and it is quite delightful. come on down!

04/10/08 ... hello people of the gutter! amid song writing and school, an element of interest to the i am bones fan pops up. I, Johannes is playing a one off gig in copenhagen on october 29th @ Raahuset. It's an event curated by the Sekretariat for Ny Kompositionsmusik - which means arty-as-fuck. allow me to elaborate. Morten Riis is a good friend of ours, the keyboard player in beta satan, and drinking-buddy. But when he is in private mode he is a highbrow Ph.d-audiodesign-artist on his own. He has read a million books and pushed a million buttons. And he got the idea to deconstruct some i am bones music into this fragmented art stuff, yet staying sorta true to the popish elements, which is what will be happening at the show in october! It's all live. to get an idea of it, listen to the remix he did of our song Lets leave the city. I think it's on our page here. We rehearsed for the first time the other day and it's pretty cool, pretty fucked up, and very very noisy.

22/6/08 Ohoi. We’ve added three concerts in denmark. Beta satan supported us last time we were touring so we're returning the gesture by supporting them on the first leg of their tour. You can hear their new single, here. It's good! And our buddies from Snake & Jet's Amazing Bullet Band is also on the bill for the Aarhus show.

22/5/08 ... The slow grinding rythm of endless toil has set in. which is good. we're working nine to five, making a little money to get by. yesterday, it was filip's birthday. I am not at liberty to disclose the exact number of years he has lived (ok, he turned 30) and on behalf of our little band, we hoist the flag and congratulate him. please, use our guestbook to do so too, if you are reading this. Next on the update agenda is our congratulations to our pals in Larsen & Furious Jane. They have released a gloomy new album and they deserve a bloody broader audience. or perhaps it's the other way around, that the bloody broader audience deserve lfj.. anywhoo, Torsten Larsen produced the first i am bones album years ago and judging from the incredible reviews their new album has been getting, torsten actually learnt a thing or two about song writing back then, hehehe. apropos... i am writing new stuff for our next album. it's not going quite as well as I thought a month ago. I want more hypnotic, drone-y, yet spastic music, but it's difficult to write. I need more patience and i need to change my entire perspective. it's like changing the course of a huge super tanker.. it takes time and it's fucking annoying. all in all, the status is two totally awesome songs and then a myriad of sketches and melodies and rythmic ideas that is just one big mess right now. perhaps we'll let you have a 24 hour sneak preview on myspace one of these days? i'll see what the boys would say to that. this was it. say hi to filip. NOW! he's 30 years old! that means he'll be dead in in in in... 70 years! god bless.

29/4/08 ... so hey, we played nykøbing the other night. it wasn't a show for the history books either if it wasn't for the fucking awesome venue and the kind and beautiful specimens of the human race that curated the thing. god dammit. we were humbled. and humble we go into hibernation. not a damn thing is going to happen in the coming months except a design competition, possibly a video shoot, demoing, and a couple of shows supporting beta satan in the release of their debut album in the fall, but those shows aren't quite confirmed yet. but keep checking back :) in the meantime, allow the headquarters to recommend scarlett johansson's tom waits cover album. it sound really good! sort of like nico and sort of like the good girl next door, playing courtney love with her hairbrush and tennis racket in front of the mirror. neat. god bless y'all.

22/4/08 ... ladies and gentlemen. we have returned safely from our trip to england. filip and christian went to copenhagen, jeppe and myself went to aarhus. unfortunately, we didn't play our best show ever, as promised. I knew I jinxed it... anywhoo, we got to see marvin's revolt and wet dog and both bands were really neat. and big ups to mette for setting the entire thing up and letting us crash at her flat for a couple of days! friday we'll rehearse for the show on saturday. and when that show is over and done with, we'll officially enter the twilight zone of being between albums. this is a time for song writing and getting to know the ideas that has been popping up as of late. you know, asking yourself, hey what the hell was that? personally, it's my favorite and most dreaded time of the rock n roll season. there are a couple of songs already, and the song that is to become the direction of the new stuff has been written. you know when you've written it, and that's a really cool phew-feeling, as in one hasn't lost the promethean fire.. yet... in other news, jeppe and myself - johannes - went into the studio last weekend and recorded 4 tracks. It's for a little thing we've got going on on the side... mellow love songs. 2½ songs turned out really strong and we look forward to letting the wee critters go at one point. we're talking about a 7", but we'll see. it's not coming out as an i am bones thing, that's for sure. we don't want to befoul the good names of filip and christian, hehe. and to remind you all of our collective brilliance, please read this recent review of the greater good. well, whatdoyaknow, i think that was it. the headquarters recommends the movie Cloverfield. it's surprisingly captivating. yeah. you need quicktime to view the videos.

10/4/08 ... Yup, that’s right, we’ve added another show! We’ve been invited as special guests to the annual rock'nroll competition in nykøbing falster. check http://www.myspace.com/rockforce. We are booked as headliners, rounding off a night of fierce competition between 4 local acts. It is bound to be good fun, as we’ve promised to really pull ourselves together and deliver our best shows yet in the coming weeks. yes, we’ve made that promise to ourselves, and now to you: the show in london and the one on the 26th of april will be our best so far :) ....oh god... now I've jinxed it, haven't I? well, we'll see. In addition to that: the london show... it’s the first time our little group is playing in a different time zone. and of course, we will suffer from intense jet-lag (it’s an entire hour a-skew!). if there’s a problem to have, we’ll get it. thus, we are arriving a day early to go sightseeing. if you have suggestions as to what to see and what to do, do not hesitate writing us, aight?

1/4/08 ... a rather thrilling thing was forgotten in the update the other day. our friends in melvis and the papercuts have uploaded their entire - and brilliant - album for free download. it features johannes of i am bones on drums, guitar and vocals on a couple of songs and also mr q of beta satan fame on a song or two, among others. the headquarters recommends the track hearts like gun wounds. it's the best song released last year and nobody gave a shit, but that's how it is. too many bands around these days. the good stuff is drowning in glitter and crap on a stick. enjoy!

30/3/08 ... and so the tour ended. and it ended on a rather weird note. more on that later. for now let us evaluate in a brain-stormy way. it was fun touring with beta satan, the catering was top notch all the way, pretty much all of johannes' gear is now broken and/or useless, only filip was sick - but just a wee bit, well, jeppe was also sick for a day or two, but that was because he slept in a super cold room without covers.. we have had some constructive conversations regarding the future direction of our music and we all agreed as to what is cool and what is not cool, and we got these reviews for our shows. we have accomplished quite a bit the last month and i guess we'd be rather full of ourselves this morning if it were not for the wonderful shame of yesterday..... we went to viborg. huge, huge venue. did a nice soundcheck with our beloved Kenneth at the helm, saw the cathedral, had a tasty dinner... and... not... one person showed up. we packed up and went home and got drunk and filip cut his nose on a glass christian shoved in his face. intentionally, of course. christian is such a violent guy, you know.  going home without playing would have been humiliating had we not had the warm and fuzzy feeling in our tummies from the other shows. now we'll take some time off until london and then we'll start focussing on new material. we've got some GRAND ideas, musically... god bless, god bless.

23/3/08 ... pheeeew, three more shows under our belt. the one in middelfart was a very memorable one... a warm, heart-felt thanks to the crew at walker for the relaxed atmosphere and indeed, the incredible audience. it was strange and fun seeing you people wreck yourselves! we've uploaded a string of photos on our myspace site from the march tour and stuff. but hey... tadaaaaaah, we're going abroad again next month. We'll be playing in London, of all places. april 15th! here's the adress: 93 Feet East in Bricklane, East London. This thing is being curated by the wonderful people of The Pastry Club. Here's the flyer! it says we're handsome. obviously they haven't seen our recent degeneration... again, consult our myspace site... We've had some mails during the last year from people who'd like to see us in london, so - if you are reading this - there ain't no excuse good enough not to go to this show. We'll be playing alongside an awesome danish band called Marvin's Revolt. They've just released a wonderful math-pop album and we're looking forward to seeing them live. come on down!

16/3/08 ... hey! looka here! it a music video. it was made by christian dahl. enjoy!

14/3/08 ... Hello you puny little earthlings. Here’s some news for ya. Our rehearsal space buddies of baconflex have made a remix of our song the good son. please direct your nosy little noses towards our player at myspace for your listening pleasure ... And tomorrow we’ll play in our hometown alongside our blood brothers Beta Satan. Goddammit we gon’ tear down the friggin joint! both bands got whupped into shape last week when we played copenhagen, vordingborg and roskilde. a warm thanks to the people who showed up for those shows and the one in odense and made it a memorable couple of days. Personally, I don’t think we’ve ever been in better shape than we are these days. we don’t have to think anymore. it’s all being and doing. pure ecstacy of living. this was also reflected in the kind gaffa review of our show at rust the other night. 5/6 stars. but we didn’t play particularly well that night. nor did we play a bad show... so... do the math and let us kick your ass tomorrow :) enjoy the remix and enjoy your weekend. hope to see you soon at the coming shows. all the best.

28/2/08 ... when we grow up, we want to become lack. It's just so fucking good... their new album... i've listened to it all day and and and it's the songs we're trying to write! for fuck's sake! beautiful, powerful, grand grand grand... what's new you ask? got a 5/6 review the other day. and here's the stupid promo video for the tour we're embarking on come saturday, and here's the arty, the good one. just scroll down a bit. and while you're there, please read the story of our horrible trip to germany in the blog. it will make your day, because it didn't happen to you. not unlike the news. see you in odense! we're playing the new track. weeeee!

13/2/08 ... johannes is slowly recovering from what he claims was ebola or cholera. However, the symptoms point in the direction of a common cold, but johannes thrives upon self-pity and being interesting, so let's just call his ailment ebola... how is this relevant to you? well, we're goin on the road next friday and saturday, so it's great that the health-issues are improving. left are only the mental-issues, but we'll see to that come the march tour. as a promotion stunt, morningside has updated the ecard. knock yourselves out, listen to the entire album for free! god damn free! we've also fucked around with our myspace site, making it even more boring and less colourfull. what else is new you ask? Jeppe is going swimming until our trip to germany. christian is looking for a cabinet-maker job in copenhagen. filip is settling into his new apartment in copenhagen, and johannes is moving into filip's old apartment in aarhus. sweet. alright. if you show up for the weekend's shows, we promise to be playing a brand new song that is better than your favorite songs of the last album, combined! at least we think so... oh and by the way, this blog has a feature on us. that's nice. and finally, emo-tadah. we are sad to announce the departure of mogens kjeldsen, our management-guy. He has moved to copenhagen - god, everybody does - and he is too busy at his new work place to be taking care of our business also, which is a damn shame, because he's done a lot of work for us, without ever really getting paid for it. mogens we tip our hats and salute you.

28/1/08 ... apparently, it's a very very slow day at work today. not complaining, though. how was our weekend, then? We rehearsed 3 new things. We started working on a new track tentatively entitled Pop Music. We tried a couple of different approaches and within 2 hours it was a song. We agree it's one of the very best songs we've EVER done... it's so fucking powerful and bleak and catchy and HUGE. BOOM, it goes. Having rested and congratulated each other on a job well done, we started work on an instrumental song - a first for this ensemble. it's a little bit funky and a little bit annoying. but it's got charm. rythmically, it's highly complex. math funk. yes. then we drank a lot of beer and went to see our label mates Shout Wellington Air Force's concert. We had a good time! Sunday, we were back in the freezer, slightly hung over, but we worked on another new tune. it had some good elements to it, but we aborted the chorus because it sounded a little too... much like a certain band we don't like. anywhoo, it's good to be back in the saddle. oh god, boss coming, gotta go!

21/1/08 ... hey whadduhyaknow! things have lightened up in the god forsaken ensemble. a new song has seen the light of day. as previously mentioned, song writing hasn't been up to speed, lately. fortunately, the body responds correspondingly and generates music out of the blue. it's amazing how stuff is just hanging in the air, waiting to get fucked over. yes, lo and behold, a new song is born! and everybody agrees that it's friggin cool. it's got an aggressive club-vibe going. something the headquarters swore it'd never get into. but hey. you gotta surprise yourself! speaking of club-vibes... today is the release date of the new spleen united album... sweet jeebus, it's awesome! a sensational album! please get yourself acquainted with them if don't know them already. and how is this relevant to you - the regular i am bones fan? well, allow us to bask in the spleen united glory for a bit: gaute of spleen played bass on the first album we did. so hey, buy that album.... ;-) anywhoo, it's good to be writing music again. we have a rehearsal weekend coming up. we'll tell you how it went! sleep tight.

4/1/08 ... Oh lord. winter is a fist and it has already broken the spirits of this happy orchestra. it is pounding away at our disgusting, pale, crippled bodies. however, on a lighter note, we've added two shows in germany! so if you happen to be in hamburg or berlin on the 15th and 16th of february, respectively, come on down and shake your bones to the new beat in town. We've also specified which dates we're playing with beta satan in the live calendar! And our morningside label boss, jesper, suggested people write the national radio in support of us in their latest update, so we'll also urge you to do the same. Write DR and tell them how many buckets you've cried, waiting by the speakers for i am bones. hehe. and happy new year!

28.12.07 ... Hey, it's an update. sorry for having neglected the site in the past few weeks. We sincerely hope you've enjoyed the holidays and that y'all got what you wanted for christmas. There's nothing new, really, except for a few things to file under miscellaneous: tomorrow, it's the first annual i am bones christmas party. we haven't decided where yet. or what to eat. come to think of it, we better get the fucking thing moving... yeah. and another thing: our sound guy, kenneth, gave this memorable statement yesterday: "If you give me 2 billion danish crowns, I'd love to have my willy cut off. See, I'd pay a team of experts 1 billion - should be plenty - to invent a new and better penis and have them attach it to me, and i'd be left with 1 billion and a stellar johnson." So, let's all chip in, shall we? God, life is boring. siiigh. hey, the band we'll be touring with in march is of course Beta Satan. Not all of the shows, but 6 or so. That's nice. Although it means that johannes will be playing two shows every night. Beta Satan has just released a split 7" on Play/rec, BS (haha) on the b-side and Lack on the a-side. Lack is an amazing band, they really are. Jacob, their guitar man, does our sound whenever Kenneth can't make it. He's a nice guy, although he's from copenhagen and he is pro-vegetables. God, will this tiresome rant ever end? What else, what else... bumbum... Got a few good ideas for new songs. In fact, I - Johannes - haven't written a song since I wrote The Good Son for the album. That's 7 or 8 months ago now. Writer's block? no. Just fucking sick of it all, really. But in the last few days, I've had some awesome ideas. Opium music. We'll see what the guys in the band say. Oh, and we saw the nearly final cut of our video the other day. Hopefully we should be able to upload it soon. And that's it really. We'll report back on how the christmas party went because we know that it is of importance to you to hear how it went.

20/11/07 ... Ahoi matees. We set sail, yiaar! Please check the calendar! We've just added a string of danish shows! And we'll be touring with some band... We'll let you know. They don't want us to tell you who they are, yet. Perhaps they are embarassed and don't want to be associated with us or perhaps they are just afraid of getting their asses wooped. By us. But we can tell you this, though... It'll be the goddam fucking wolliwop sucking mother of all tours friggin awesome. mm mm! and of course, it has been aptly named The Apollonian and Dionysian Tour. Enough with the word play, already. In fact, I'll just shut up altogether. Over and out, peace.

16/11/07 ... The headquarters has put down the guitar to update y'all. First things first. A warm thanks to the people who showed up at the recent shows in denmark. it was really gratifying to see some of you singing along to the new songs already. thanks! and it was really cool to be playing alongside our supportbands. catch Melvis & The Papercuts, Jeremy Sparrow and Talking to Teapots at any given chance! Two of the shows were reviewed by reputable magazines/fanzines. here's the good one and here's the exceptionally good one. and here are hof-fotograf Kevin's pictures from aarhus. And here are Mikkel Elbech's photos from the same show. They make us look like fine young gentlemen, so they've passed the politbüro-censorship. Alright now. Supertroels' remix can now be downloaded from our sounds section. And we've added our good friend of Beta Satan fame Morten Riis' remix of our song Let's Leave The City. It's mellow and synthetic and it's god-skull-fucking awesome! You can download it here, directly. And just to flood you with i am bones info/praise, here's another 9/10 review of our album. Now, if that didn't shut you up, i don't know what will. oh dammit, there's more: we're gon' add a bunch of tour dates in the not too distant. we've got something cool coming up and y'all will want to come on out and get ya grooves on. again.

6/11/07 ... ladies. arh, okay, and gentlemen. you gon' boogie on down now, ya hear? our blood brother, supertroels, has remixed our song zeitgeist! it's become an inebriating, hypnotic, dance-a-thon. ya'll download. ya'll consider yourselves warmed up for this weekend's shows, aight? and if you don't know the workings of this supertroels, ya'll just go ahead and google and dive into this gentleman's various outputs. may we recommend this.

1/11/07 ... this is the working man's blues: hey, listen up! the website has been put slightly up to date. a new one is on the way, but in the meantime, enjoy the updated live calendar, the new photos, the mp3s under sounds, a new press kit, although the most recent press photo isn't up yet. management-mogens is working on it as we speak. bum bum bum, yes... that's it, really. not much, but something. it's something. remember to download the exciting zip-folder (below... it says wazzup, enticing your curiosity) as it won't stay up forever. it contains demos, a cover song, a video, a picture, a DUI no wait DIY cover to print and sleep with under yr pillow. and there's more: as mentioned, we shot a video for the smash-hit Let's Leave The City. we've seen a rough edit and it should be good fun. however, the director's wife's just had a kid, so it could be a while. congratulations and all the best to your new family, video-christian! this weekend we'll rehearse for the tour.. and we might just try out a brand new song... something new is cookin'. sleep tight.

26/10/07 ... wazzup? this is wazzup.

8/10/07 ... hey! thanks to everybody who showed up at the release party the other night! you all made it a very memorable evening, and we were very proud of seeing all of you smiling and drinking your brains out. and thanks for the presents :) AND as you may or may not have noticed, the gorilla on the left has been equiped with a bottle of local bitter, called arnbitter. the company behind this delicious beverage supplied us with 6 bottles to help us celebrate the release! for free! that's fucking cool. so thank you, arnbitter. and more thank yous are due. this time geiger pin-pointed the brilliance of our album in a way that spooked us, as if we'd written the review ourselves. now, go and buy our album. that's a direct order. here're the downloads: nationally and internationally. here're the hard copy editions: nationally and internationally. here you can buy our t-shirts. COME ON PEOPLE! we're trying to make a living, here! alright then. in a couple of days, we've got a little present for you all. so keep yourself in touch. bye for now.

2/10/07 ... yes, I know we've been talking earlier today.. but the e-card with our entire album has been updated to serve the international callers :) and just to confuse matters of the tongue, if you are a danish caller, you might want to entertain yourself with the reading of the track-by-track commentary whilst listening. It was actually not really intended for publication, but rather as part of the promotion package sent out to the different zines and stuff. but hey, screw that. who gives a shit, really?

2/10/07 ... look! more reviews: this time from music-scan who gives it 8/10. and then there's a danish one which rather cool except that it calls us cartoonish towards the end. no bribes for stiften this time. and there are a couple more like these somewhere on the hard drive. but i ain't got time to upload it right now. alright, listen up. if you want to hear our new album in it's entirety go HERE! make sure you crank your stereo and focus, because it's not good as background music, aight?! alright. off you go, now.

1/10/07 ... hey hey! the day is upon us! go spend your hard earned money on our new album. If you do, you may proceed and venture into the reading of reviews of our new album! jydske vestkysten 1/6 harharhar jesus, that's funny! thank you hjemegn. diskant 9/10 woohoo. gaffa 4/6 hey that's alright. frekvens  8/11 woohoo. citadel 4/6 hey thanks. soundvenue 4/6 no link, but they dig it. politiken 4/6 and they still use the old press photo. but anywhoo, some international ones: laut.de 4/5 and this is the biggest site of all in germany. so, woohoo! dosenmusik.de 12/15 weeee! gaesteliste.de *toll!* thank you! visions 8/10 and apparently this is a huge magazine as well so that's just dandy! and so we may conclude: it's a pretty pretty pretty good album. not a modern classic - although some are close - from the get-go, however it's got all you people need, and that's a steady beat and catchy tune :) look out for an e-card from which you can stream the entire album, one of these days.

30/9/07 ... hey our album is out in denmark tomorrow! we came back from the tour last night, totally and utterly tired from screaming our lungs out for 1½ weeks. it has been a good time with high highs and low lows, the way it is supposed to be. allow the editor to take the focus off of ourselves for bit. figurines. if you have ANY chance to see them live, you should take it. they are the best band in the world, simple as that. it was inspiring and wonderful to see such nice and mellow people being so good at what they do! go buy their album and lock yourselves up in a room with it. stunning stunning stunning! spotlight back on us, again, please. alright, we've received a bunch of reviews of our album that i'm going to put online tomorrow, so that you can see for yourselves that our album is fucking cool. and over at gaffa.dk you can read a - danish - tour journal and see some pictures. tonight, johannes and filip will be on the air at DR P3, talking about the album with Carsten Holm. I think it's live and it'll be around 22.30. Supposedly it'll also be online eventually. we'll let you know. and if you missed it, we we're among the bands of the week at the german myspace department, which is kinda huge, i guess. see you in aalborg on friday with speaker bite me and now also snake and jet's amazing bullet band and see you at our release party on saturday, you're all invited, although there is not endless amounts of space at slagtehal 3.

19/9/07 ... well well well, what do you know, another song off the album is available today! with this one, we are venturing into unchartered waters, for us at least... please welcome 'baby, together we can live with ourselves'. It's one of our favorites on the album. Tomorrow morning we'll begin our tour de germany/vienna, with a show in leipzig. wish us a safe trip and some good shows, and we hope to see some of you people out there. we'll be selling t-shirts and cds and posters, so bring lots and lots of spendin' money! Finally, we are happy to have added a show in aalborg, denmark! it's the day before our release party, in aarhus - more on that later - and it's with the sensational rock band speaker bite me! weeeeeeeeeee!

9/9/07 ... yes, we hope your're enjoying the new tune over at myspace. Forgot to mention that it is actually available for download, so go right ahead and grab it :) and in other news: the support bands for our danish dates are ready: aarhus will be blessed with the wonderful and disgustingly catchy melvis and the papercuts, odense will sport indie hero jeremy sparrow, and copenhagen - surely - they will cheer for our swedish friends talking to teapots. YEA! Off to rehearsals now. bye.

7/9/07 ... Over at myspace you can hear a new tune called Zeitgeist! GO GO GO NUTS!

4/9/07 ... people, people, people... you have let us down! we dropped two places to number four in this weeks indie chart! round up your friends and make them support your favorite band. and just to make sure we're clear, that's us, aight? aight. on a lighter note: the first review of our new album has ticked in! and it's really positive! ...we think... french is not our strongest point. and what else is new? bum bum bum... filip is handing in his thesis this week and clubhouse is joining forces with the aarhus-crew, until we depart on our tour. we have quite a bit of rehearsal to do, still.

28/8/07 ... well, spank my ass and call me sally! we debuted and entered at number two - no not that number two - in the alternative chart of the national danish radio. so, get those filthy fingers out of your noses and onto the votin' buzzers and give it a go next week also. anywhoo. this weekend we rehearsed and re-learnt 4 tracks from the album. and things went rather well. there were a couple of really complex songs that we dreaded playing, but once we worked out the arrangements, things were actually pretty straight forward. we even elaborated on one of them, came up with a chaotic noisefest outro, so that's cool. today however, I, Johannes, woke with a swollen and itching eye and a fucked throat, so I had to call in sick for work. it's probably just aids or cancer. dammit. bye for now. oh, and I almost forgot: look at these promotional videos: 1 and 2 and 3 and 4

22/8/07 ... yo. head on over to our myspace site. we've added the two tracks from the ecard for streamin'. AND another track called The Masterplan. We hope you like them :)

21/8/07 ... oh sweet mother of god, here we go... apparently our song the main thing is to keep the main thing the main thing recieved the glory of being tested @ the danish national radio DR P3's Barometer-chart thingy. If you want to help us secure our delusions of self-grandeur, please cast your vote for us, here. yeah. you can also hear the track. and some other tracks from other groovy bands, as well. Finally, let be know, that the german/austrian/switzerlandian (?) ah, swiss, yes, release of our behemoth is just one month away today. rejoice! rejoice!

16/8/07 ... g'day. today we've added a little string of danish tour dates! and we hope you are enjoying the two tracks from the new album. look below, if ya didn't know.

10/8/07 ... folks, the day is upon us. international callers click here ... danish callers click here. hey what do you know, it's the i am bones ecard! you can hear 2 songs from our new album: a poppy tune called 'the main thing is to keep the main thing the main thing' and the fuming 'home is the one corner of hell that didn't catch fire'. report back, if you like it :) people, you have got to start using our guestbook facilities.

31/7/07 ... alright, I've been thinking about the tour de france. conspiracy theory or not, I don't think rasmussen cheated. I am convinced of a grand scheme in which the main ingredient is corporate greed. and rasmussen was a pawn in that scheme. yes. so, the headquarters regrets the wording the other day. for more tour news - tune into iambones.dk - we keep you posted. finally, the promotional advance copies of our album arrived yesterday! it's so rewarding to be holding two years of work in one hand, albeit just promos... you can see the front of the cover here! it's all hand made, with glue and paper! i think it looks a little different in print, though. arriverderci.

26/7/05 ... what disappointing events unfolded this evening! our guy in the tour de france - michael rasmussen - has been lying! it's so fucking annoying, seeing as yours truely has spent the last couple of weeks in a post-record hell of boredom being glued to the TV, rooting for mr rasmussen. jesus christ. anyway. you may ask yourselves where are the damn samples of this new album the band is always talking about. sitting on the harddrive, is where it is. it's all done and it sounds killah, but the big cheeses over at morningside records would like us to wait a teensy wee bit, still. something about the giant machinery of promotion that has to be tuned to perfection before we release the beast ;-) muharhar. in other news, filip is putting the final hand on his master's thesis these days, jeppe and some friends rented a car and drove to france for a week, clubhouse is building/repairing geetars here, and myself, johannes, well, i'm mostly just bored out of my sockets. goddam tour de farce.

5/7/07 ... yo, check our calendar for the tour, aight?

4/7/07 ... while we wait for the master of our new album to return from the states, let us rejoice. we are supporting figurines on a string of tour dates in germany, come september. they'll be playing 10 shows and we'll be aboard on most of them, I think it's 8. it has been confirmed this morning and we are very excited! they are one of our absolute favorite bands on the planet and we have had some fun shows together in the past. a sneak preview of their new album has revealed a giant leap into psychedelica and pop and dammit you should all look forward to it. we'll update the calendar as soon as the headquarters has the time to do so. these are happy times, indeed.

26/6/07 ... alright, album details! last night we handed over our final remarks concerning the mixing of the album to cheif 1, fredrik thaae. the mixing has taken a lot longer than we projected, but that's not freddy's fault. we just wanted it to sound as good as possible, not rushing through things, to make it as banging as it could possibly be. in other words, for the greater good. huh? what was that? that was just the album title revealed! the epic pop beast shall henceforth be called: 'the greater good'. and here's a tentative tracklist:

  1. home is the one corner of hell that didn't catch fire
  2. zeitgeist
  3. the masterplan
  4. let's leave the city
  5. motivational speech for suicidal people
  6. the arsonist
  7. the main thing is to keep the main thing the main thing
  8. walk, don't run
  9. cotton fever
  10. king grounded
  11. baby, together we can live with ourselves
  12. the good son

yup. around july 1st we'll ship the tracks to chicago, where they'll be mastered by Jason Ward, which means that in a week or two, you'll be able to hear a track or two here and via our myspace site. Ah, we've promised that before, but this time it's actually true. hopefully, hehe. the cover will sport a giant motherfucker of an octopus in a room. we hope you enjoyed the album teaser, the cacophony of guitar noise, the other day. and the video from the studio as well. merry christmas, everyone!

20/6/07 ... halleluja, the headquarters has bought a firewire-thingy. to launch this new era, we've uploaded a video of our time in the studio, april 07. and look for much more footage in the near future. we have hours of tapes in the box under the bed. please accept our apologies for the video being so... without relevance. we had joy, we had fun, we had seasons in the sun. enjoy.

15/6/07 ... .

13/6/07 ... ha! look at this! this is a video of the band torpedoes playing in struer years ago. the band features such lovely, yet pathetic people as johannes of i am bones on drums, anders hald of melvis and the paper cuts, rune hedeman of 1234 and kasper rothaus of chewie d. god, we weren't the tightest band around, eh? and on a side note, johannes looks really gay. not that that's a bad thing! no no. but still, gay. anyways. today i am bones had some press photos taken. kristian djurhuus - the guy who did this video for beta satan - was behind the camera. we got up at 6 this morning to go to management-mogens' place. we had a barbecue..

11/6/07 ... hey, what do you know, the mother of positive reviews has ticked in. all the way from australia, g'day mate. apparently, the wrong numbers yada yada album is three points better than arcade fire's neon bible, which is kinda funny, all things considered... check it out here, and think much of yourselves for knowing us :) oh, and remember: free wee show @ voxhall, thursday the 14th.

10/6/07 ... long time, no update. so here we go: the album is in it's final stages. mixing is well under way, the cover is taking shape, it's beginning to feel like we're finally there. and as a little treat for you all, we are playing a free "show" in Aarhus next thursday. Jeppe, our disgusting drummer, is a bachelor from the music academy and we are to play two songs with him for his exam. It is at voxhall, it's thursday the 14th (not the 16th as we wrote yesterday...) of june, and around 4 o'clock. no entrance fee, so everybody, come on down! we are playing the old tune 'talk to the hand' and a semi-new one called 'home is the one corner of hell that didn't catch fire'. aaaaand a big-ass pile of tour dates in germany with an as-yet-undisclosed but totally fucking brilliant danish band (heeeeeeey girl lalalaaaa...) has been confirmed. we'll let you know what it's all about as soon as the time is right. and may the force be with you all. god bless.

24/5/07 ... behold! here you can see some pictures from a couple of our shows in the past few months. again, it's the local photography wiz-kid kevin n andersen who is behind the camera. he makes us look like potent men, which of course, we aren't. and more photos for your masturbatory needs, here. there are a couple of new ones from the very room in which the vocals are being recorded. johannes was quoted as having said: "this is the most exhausting thing I have ever done. the notes have to be delivered with an excrutiating amount of power, precision and articulation. But to my astonishment, things are working out!" Those words indicate that the album is nearly nearly done now. the mixing of it began yesterday and tomorrow, prior to our concert @ loppen, copenhagen, we are going to freddy's studio to hear one or two early mixes. we can hardly wait for the shit to be assembled into brutal, sexy pop music. it won't be long now, before we can let you in on some of it... give us a fortnight. the biggest problem right now is that the song that's probably going to be the first "single" doesn't have a name yet... nor does the album... jesus we have to start thinking about those things... good night and see you tomorrow at loppen. it'll be a blast! we hope. oh and by the way, here's a wee interview

13/5/07 ... dammit, johannes went to copenhagen a couple of days last week to record the vocals for the album, but alas, he was still not well. when he sang it sounded as if he had swallowed an egg - not cool in other words. he and freddy did a few guitar dubs instead and ate some junkfood. the good lord has re-blessed the dear boy with healthy vocal cords and he is to begin singing tomorrow. today freddy and a team of girls are recording cello and stuff in a church in copenhagen. freddy claims to have come up with some beautiful parts and we are eager to hear the results! thursday we played at voxhall in aarhus with our new mates in the psyke project. we went to a bar and had tequila, sambucca and beer afterwards. johannes woke up with the word LOVE written across his knuckles on his right hand... yup, must have been a good night out. and yeah, it was great playing together as a band again after having been dissected in the studio. look out loppen! weeeeeeee!

3/5/07 ... look, photos from the studio!

1/5/07 ... hey, bad news... we have to cancel the show in haderslev in a couple of days due to illness combined with a strong need to finish the album. it really is a shame, but it's the only way it could be... but we're still on for the voxhall and loppen shows!

30/4/07 ... pheeeeew, I guess you've noticed that no studio diary has been posted. sorry 'bout that. it's just that we've been working so hard that at the end of each day, all one could do was get drunk and go to sleep. no time for internet. the first couple of days saw jeppe and clubhouse doing the drums and bass parts. it went surprisingly well and smooth although producer-guy freddy had an interesting idea he wanted to try that'd change everything. freddy suggested jeppe record the drums and cymbals separately to be able to compress the drums hard in the mixing phase, without getting overblend from the cymbals into the drum mikes. dubbing the cymbals posed no problem for jeppe, so, hats off, everybody! and clubhouse worked up a groovy, gainy bass-sound. the next four days saw barbie and johannes do their guitar parts, which were quite a grueling couple of days because people we're getting tired and we argued a lot about the characteristics of the guitar sound, but luckily our captain freddy was able to keep his head cool during the friendly fire and we totally nailed the guitars. 12 songs all in all: 1. the main thing is to keep the main thing the main thing, 2. home is the one corner of hell that didn't catch fire, 3. zeitgeist, 4. motivational speech for suicidal people, 5. the arsonist, 6. let's leave the city, 7. walk don't run, 8. (good boy), 9. (evil), 10. (ich habe rune), 11. (king of pain), 12. cotton fever. the song titles in parenthesis are just what we call them, they'll be christened later. The intention was to make violent, uncompromising pop music and we are well under way. personally and pretensiously I feel that this will be the best danish rock album in the last decade, it's that friggin' good and different and powerful. you'll be able to hear something around the middle of june we think. thanks for reading.

13/4/07 ... yup, today is the final day of rehearsing. check out this batch of files for you, documenting the highpoints of the last couple of days. again, you'll need quicktime to view the video... speaking of videoes, check this one out. the lyrics of that song, pretty pretty good. and speaking of speaking of videoes. beta satan has one coming out in a day or two. check their myspace site. it - the video - is freakin' cool. hope they'll uploade today... bye bye

10/4/07 ... goddammit! the new smashing pumpkins album is going to be called zeitgeist. and months ago, we wrote a tune called zeitgeist. now everybody is going to think that we nicked that! annoying!

7/4/07 ... Thought we’d let you know what’s going on: clubhouse passed his cabinet maker exam in flying colours, jeppe is vacating in lemvig, filip is combing his hair and Johannes is frantically playing guitar to see if any last minute ideas will crop up. Next week we have the final three rehearsals. gee, it's exciting! we start on the 18th of april. 2 years of finding one's feet is finally being given shape.. towards the end of the songwriting, things have turned slightly poppier than originally planed, but hey, that's good. everybody likes to whistle along, right? the album will be out on morningside records - as was the last one - since the people in charge are diggin the new stuff, and we're diggin' them, so that's good. and hey, we played the first of the psyke project support shows the other day. we kinda sucked due to a soar throat and having toasted all the endorphins (yes, we are an edu-tainment band), waiting for soundcheck in the sun. and we probably just want to get going on the album. the psyke project are hella cool people and musicians, and we look forward to more shows with them in may. finally, I think we're doing a wee diary whilst recording, so check back here once in a while, or maybe myspace. cheers.

30/3/07 ...  Hey! look, the gorilla on the left is now a sponsored gorilla! the thing is, in february, when jeppe and johannes went to Lemvig to record some demos, we asked a local car rental service if they'd be interested in sponsoring a car for us, in return for us puttin their logo on our site and their name in our next album cover. lo and behold, they agreed! everybody's happy! we did not spend a dime on an otherwise rather expensive trip, and you get to click that wonderful logo. oh and if coca cola's reading this, we are of course available at all times if you want to tatoo that beautiful brand into our foreheads, in return for a tropic island with a recordin' studio. thank you <

...old news.
